Our history
C’est en juillet 1992 que l’entreprise Groupe Florin a vu le jour dans la ville de Québec. La toute première boutique Florin a donc été ouverte par un couple désireux d’offrir une gamme de sacs à main, portefeuilles, valises et accessoires de voyage dans la Capitale Nationale. C’est ainsi qu’on retrouva, à l’été 1992, une Boutique Florin à Place Fleur-de-Lys.
It is from its beginnings that the company bears its name. Indeed, Florin is the name given to various European coins minted in gold in Tuscany in the 13th century, named so because of the fleur-de-lys (florenus in Latin) which adorned them.
Since then, to this day, several changes have taken place, including a change of owners (within the same family, from one generation to another), the opening of new stores and the closure of some to strategic purposes. This is how Florin currently has 10 physical stores (9 in Quebec City and one in Lévis) as well as an online store to meet the needs of a growing customer base.
