Since 1992
Our history
It was in July 1992 that the Florin company was created in Quebec City. The very first store was therefore opened by a couple wishing to offer a range of handbags, wallets, suitcases and travel accessories in the National Capital. This is how we found, in the summer of 1992, a Boutique Florin at Place Fleur-de-Lys.
It is from its beginnings that the company bears its name. Indeed, Florin is the name given to various European coins minted in gold in Tuscany in the 13th century, named so because of the fleur-de-lys (florenus in Latin) which adorned them.
Since then, to this day, several changes have taken place, including a change of owners (within the same family, from one generation to another), the opening of new stores and the closure of some to strategic purposes. This is how Florin currently has 10 physical stores (9 in Quebec City and one in Lévis) as well as an online store to meet the needs of a growing customer base.
