Groupe Florin was founded in Quebec City in July 1992. The very first Florin boutique was opened by a couple who wanted to offer a range of handbags, wallets, suitcases and travel accessories in the National Capital.

Florin is the name given to various European coins struck in gold in Tuscany in the 13th century, named so because of the fleur-de-lis (florenus in Latin) which adorned them.

Since then, to this day, several changes have taken place, including a change of owners (within the same family, from one generation to the next), the opening of new stores and the closing of some for strategic reasons.
